About The Position

Grand Strand Medical Center is hiring a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to support Registered Nurses on its PCU. The PCT provides hands-on, non-medicated patient care and helps maintain a safe, welcoming environment. The role includes assisting with patients’ daily needs, supporting monitoring and care plans, and helping preserve patient comfort and dignity.

Requirements

• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS); certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.

Nice To Haves

• Previous healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient preparation, mobility, transfers, and comfort to support care and recovery.
• Provide non-medicated care, including dressing changes, skin protection, and use of supportive devices.
• Keep patient areas and common spaces clean, organized, and stocked.
• Manage supplies, equipment, and logs to support infection control and team readiness.
• Communicate with patients, families, and the care team to support safety and quality.
