Patient Care Tech (PCT) - ER
About The Position
Assists nursing service personnel with patient care activities and related services necessary to care for patients’ personal needs and comfort. The role includes assisting with personal hygiene, taking vital signs, and changing bed linens. The Patient Care Tech may also serve and collect food trays, provide between-meal nourishment, and clean, sterilize, store, and prepare supplies. The position uses commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the field and follows instructions and pre-established guidelines under immediate supervision. Typically reports to a registered nurse or supervisor.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- CPR certification.
- One of the following: CNA license, Home Health, Nursing Assistant, ENT, or Nursing Student who has completed the first round of clinicals.
Responsibilities
- Assist nursing service personnel with patient care activities and services related to patients’ personal needs and comfort.
- Assist patients with personal hygiene.
- Take vital signs.
- Change bed linens.
- Serve and collect food trays and provide between-meal nourishment, as needed.
- Clean, sterilize, store, and prepare supplies, as needed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
