Patient Care Specialist 2 (Medical Assistant)
About The Position
A Patient Care Specialist 2 (PCS2) supports AHF’s commitment to excellent patient care and efficient healthcare center operations. The role transitions among clinical, administrative, and front-office functions to help provide patients with a positive experience and a high standard of care. PCS2s contribute to patient retention, operational efficiency, and the reputation of AHF while adapting to changing needs and collaborating with employees and departments. Clinical duties include medical assistant functions such as phlebotomy. Administrative and front-office duties include processing patient referrals and identifying and verifying insurance coverage. The position participates in cross-functional rotations and is developed across multiple healthcare center functions. PCS2s are expected to be advocates for AHF’s initiatives and to keep its mission and core values in mind while providing compassionate care.
Requirements
- Medical Assistant Certified.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
Responsibilities
- Perform medical assistant clinical functions, including phlebotomy.
- Perform administrative and front-office duties.
- Process patient referrals.
- Identify and verify insurance coverage.
- Participate in cross-functional rotations and collaborate with AHF employees and departments.
- Support a positive patient experience, patient retention, operational efficiency, and high-quality care.
- Promote AHF’s initiatives, mission, and core values.
