Patient Care Extender | Emergency Trauma Center
About The Position
St. Cloud Hospital is hiring a Patient Care Extender for its Emergency Trauma Center (ETC). The role supports patients in a fast-paced clinical environment and works alongside doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals. Duties include cleaning and dressing wounds, starting splints, performing blood draws, and teaching patients to walk with crutches. The ETC has 38 private patient rooms, is a Level II Trauma Center, and receives approximately 60,000 visits annually. The position is onsite and full-time, working 60 hours every two weeks on 12-hour shifts from 11:00 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. The schedule includes every third weekend (Friday through Sunday) and rotating holidays. Starting pay is $20.31 per hour, with a range of $20.31 to $30.47 per hour and additional pay for evening, night, and weekend shifts.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Healthcare Provider card; it can be obtained after hire.
Nice To Haves
- EMT-Basic or Nursing Assistant qualification.
- One year of emergency department experience.
