About The Position
The Patient Care Assistant supports comprehensive health care services for patients and families, assisting RNs and physicians within the scope of nursing practice. The role collaborates with the nursing staff and offers daily variety and problem-solving opportunities. The position is listed for the PtCA Medical Palliative unit at MultiCare Good Samaritan Hospital in Puyallup. It is a 0.9 FTE role with 12-hour day shifts and rotating weekends.
Requirements
- Certification as a Nursing Assistant in the State of Washington.
- Current enrollment in an accredited RN program may replace the certification requirement; students enrolled in such a program must be registered as a Nurse’s Assistant.
- Successful completion of a Basic Life Support (BLS) course for healthcare providers and a current card.
Nice To Haves
- One or more years of institutional patient care experience is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Perform patient care as directed by an RN or physician.
- Assist with dressing changes, data gathering, documentation, and vital signs.
- Apply a service-oriented attitude, professional integrity, and sound decision-making.
- Prioritize effectively and bring organization and flexibility to work duties.
