About The Position
The Patient Care Assistant supports comprehensive health care services for patients and families, working with nursing staff and assisting RNs and physicians within the scope of nursing practice. The role involves collaborating with the nursing team and handling varied duties and problem-solving opportunities. The position is in MultiCare Good Samaritan Hospital’s Palliative Unit in Puyallup, Washington, with a 0.9 FTE schedule of 12-hour night shifts and rotating weekends.
Requirements
- Certification as a Nursing Assistant in the State of Washington.
- Current enrollment in an accredited RN program may replace the certification requirement; enrolled students must be registered as a Nurse’s Assistant.
- Successful completion of a Basic Life Support (BLS) course for healthcare providers and a current card.
Nice To Haves
- One or more years of institutional patient care experience is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Perform patient care as directed by an RN or physician.
- Assist with dressing changes, data gathering, documentation, and vital signs.
- Use a service-oriented attitude, professional integrity, and sound decision-making.
