About The Position
The Patient Care Assistant supports comprehensive health care services for patients and families, assisting registered nurses and physicians within the scope of nursing practice. The role collaborates with the nursing staff and offers variety and problem-solving opportunities. This position is in the Medical Palliative Unit at MultiCare Good Samaritan Hospital in Puyallup, Washington. It is a 0.75 FTE position with 12-hour night shifts and rotating weekends and holidays.
Requirements
- Certification as a Nursing Assistant in Washington State, or current enrollment in an accredited RN program; enrolled students must be registered as a Nurse’s Assistant.
- Current card after successful completion of a Basic Life Support (BLS) course for healthcare providers.
Nice To Haves
- One or more years of institutional patient care experience is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Perform patient care as directed by an RN or physician.
- Assist with dressing changes, data gathering, documentation, and vital signs.
- Apply a service-oriented attitude, professional integrity, and sound decision-making.
- Prioritize and organize work effectively while remaining flexible.
