About The Position
The Patient Care Assistant supports comprehensive health care services for patients and families, assisting RNs and physicians within the scope of nursing practice. The role collaborates with the nursing staff and offers variety and problem-solving opportunities in daily work. It is an opportunity for people with strong interpersonal skills to explore a nursing career. The position is listed as 0.75 FTE, with 12-hour night shifts and rotating holidays and weekends.
Requirements
- Certification as a Nursing Assistant in Washington State.
- Current enrollment in an accredited RN program may replace the certification requirement; enrolled students must be registered as a Nurse’s Assistant.
- Successful completion of a Basic Life Support (BLS) course for healthcare providers and a current card.
Nice To Haves
- One or more years of institutional patient care experience is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Perform patient care as directed by an RN or physician.
- Assist with dressing changes, data gathering, documentation, and vital signs.
- Apply a service-oriented attitude, professional integrity, and sound decision-making.
- Prioritize work effectively and use organization and flexibility to manage duties.
