Patient Care Assistant
About The Position
As a Patient Care Assistant, you will work under the direction of a Registered Nurse to assist in delivering patient care. Duties include helping with personal hygiene and daily activities; transporting patients and equipment; setting up and maintaining patient rooms; and reordering and stocking supplies. You will also coordinate communications and procedures for the nursing unit, process electronic orders, and assemble patient charts and other necessities. This position is 0.8 FTE (32 hours per week), working nights from 11:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. The schedule includes every other weekend and holiday.
Requirements
- Meet one of the following: high school diploma or equivalent; high school diploma in progress and Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) listing on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry; or equivalent work experience in lieu of a high school diploma or equivalent, which may be considered.
- Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross.
Nice To Haves
- CNA experience.
- Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) or unit clerk experience.
- Microsoft Office experience.
- Prior experience in an acute care or hospital setting.
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) listing on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry.
