About The Position

The Patient Care Assistant works under the direction of a Registered Nurse to assist with patient care, including personal hygiene and daily activities. The role includes transporting patients and equipment, setting up and maintaining patient rooms, and reordering and stocking supplies. The assistant also coordinates communications and procedures for the nursing unit, processes electronic orders, and assembles patient charts and other necessities. The schedule is 0.8 FTE (32 hours per week), nights from 11:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., including every other weekend and holiday.

Requirements

• Have a high school diploma or equivalent; or be pursuing a high school diploma and be a Certified Nursing Assistant on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry; or have equivalent work experience that may be considered in lieu of a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Hold a valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross.

Nice To Haves

• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) experience.
• HUC or unit clerk experience.
• Microsoft Office experience.
• Prior experience in an acute care or hospital setting.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry.
