About The Position
The Patient Care Assistant works in the Medical Surgical department at Prime Healthcare Mercy Medical Center in Aurora, Illinois. Under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team and/or unit, the role assists patients with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care, and helps maintain a safe environment. This is a full-time day position with a schedule of 6:45 a.m. to 7:15 p.m. across three 12-hour shifts.
Requirements
- State-approved Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification is required.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association is required within 30 days of hire and must be maintained.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
Nice To Haves
- Current phlebotomy certification upon hire.
- Current EKG certification upon hire.
- At least six months of previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living.
