About The Position
The Patient Care Assistant works in the Medical Surgical Ortho Neuro department at Prime Healthcare Mercy Medical Center in Aurora, Illinois. Under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team and/or unit, the assistant helps patients with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care, and helps maintain a safe environment. This is a part-time night position scheduled for two 12-hour shifts, from 6:45 p.m. to 7:15 a.m.
Requirements
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), with state-approved certification required.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current BLS (AHA) certification within 30 days of hire and maintained thereafter.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
Nice To Haves
- Current phlebotomy certification upon hire.
- Current EKG certification upon hire.
- At least six months of previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office.
Responsibilities
