About The Position
The Patient Care Assistant works in the Medical Surgical Ortho Neuro department at Prime Healthcare Mercy Medical Center in Aurora, Illinois. Under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team and/or unit, the assistant helps patients with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care, and helps maintain a safe environment. This is a part-time night position scheduled for two 12-hour shifts, 6:45 p.m. to 7:15 a.m.
Requirements
- State-approved Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification is required.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Current BLS (AHA) certification is required within 30 days of hire and must be maintained.
- Knowledge of medical terminology is required.
Nice To Haves
- Current phlebotomy certification upon hire is preferred.
- Current EKG certification upon hire is preferred.
- At least six months of previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office is preferred.
Responsibilities
