About The Position

The Patient Care Assistant assists staff with delegated tasks of direct and indirect patient care, supporting and complementing nursing practice under the supervision of a registered nurse. The role carries out delegated skills that are within the functions limited by law to unlicensed nursing personnel. The skills and responsibilities closely align with those of a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and Patient Care Technician (PCT).

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old before the start date.
• Must maintain current Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross. If not currently certified, certification will be included as part of the orientation program.
• Able to adapt to unpredictable situations within the patient care setting.

Nice To Haves

• Completion of 12 college credits, or a high school diploma/GED with successful completion of a Nursing Assistant training program or equivalent.
• CNA experience.
