Patient Care Assistant (PCA)- Medical/Surgical (Med Surg)
About The Position
HSHS St Nicholas Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to join our Medical/Surgical (Med Surg) Unit. Ideal candidates are patient focused, mission driven caregivers looking for an opportunity to apply clinical knowledge in a fast-paced environment with various acuities. This role is part of the Nursing Support core function within the Medical/Surgical (Med/Surg) department. The position is part-time, with 24 and 32 hours per week, offering variable shifts and requiring every other weekend availability. The facility is St. Nicholas Hospital, located in Sheboygan, WI.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
- 1 year of experience in acute care setting is preferred.
- CNA (Certified Nurse Assistant) or PCT (Patient Care Technician) certification in state of practice is preferred.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) is required within 30 days upon hire.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing support within the Medical/Surgical (Med/Surg) Unit.
- Apply clinical knowledge in a fast-paced environment with various acuities.
- Work variable shifts, including every other weekend.
