About The Position

HSHS St Nicholas Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to join our Medical/Surgical (Med Surg) Unit. Ideal candidates are patient focused, mission driven caregivers looking for an opportunity to apply clinical knowledge in a fast-paced environment with various acuities. The Patient Care Assistant (PCA) provides direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. This role supports the nursing staff in the Medical/Surgical (Med/Surg) unit, assisting with patient needs and ensuring a safe and comfortable environment. The position is PRN/As Needed, located at St. Nicholas Hospital in Sheboygan, WI.

Requirements

• BLS (Basic Life Support) is required within 30 days upon hire.

Nice To Haves

• High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
• 1 year of experience in acute care setting is preferred.
• CNA (Certified Nurse Assistant) or PCT (Patient Care Technician) certification in state of practice is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Support nursing staff in the Medical/Surgical (Med/Surg) unit.
• Assist with patient needs.
