Patient Care Advocate | Wilson Parke | M-F Closing Shift
About The Position
The Patient Care Advocate provides welcoming, accurate, and courteous service to patients, visitors, and internal customers at ARA Diagnostic Imaging’s Wilson Parke location. The role greets patients and visitors, determines the reason for their visit, and provides relevant information about exams, procedures, and preparation requirements. It also supports patient intake and billing by verifying patient identity, retrieving and processing insurance information, and checking exam authorizations. The position prepares, processes, and maintains confidential records for new and existing patients. This is a full-time, on-site position in Austin, Texas, with an evening/second-shift schedule, Monday through Friday. ARA offers an outpatient setting with no on-call shifts or overnights, along with opportunities for cross-training and professional growth.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, with a pleasant and professional demeanor.
- Ability to communicate clearly and tactfully, verbally and in writing, and to motivate others.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of medical reception tasks, clinic procedures, medical terminology, and paperwork processing requirements.
Responsibilities
- Provide exemplary customer service to internal and external customers with a positive, friendly, and caring attitude.
- Greet patients and visitors, determine the nature of their visit, and provide accurate and appropriate information.
- Provide information about exams and procedures, including preparation instructions.
- Prepare, process, and maintain confidential records for new and existing patients.
- Verify patient identity and retrieve and process current patient insurance information.
- Check exam authorization during check-in and billing processes.
