About The Position
The Patient Assistance Pharmacy Coordinator is responsible for coordinating Prescription Assistance Programs (PAPs) to assist qualified uninsured or underinsured patients, to obtain medication assistance via manufacturer programs, grants, or copay assistance cards. This position interacts with patients and healthcare providers to determine PAP eligibility, and completes the required documentation to support patient assistance applications.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED
- Pharmacy Technician, State Cert (PHT) - State Licensing Board
- Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) Certification - Pharmacy Technician Certification Board
- Licensed Social Worker (LSW) - State Licensing Board
Nice To Haves
- 3 years Pharmacy Experience
- 2 years Medication Purchasing
Responsibilities
- Coordinate patient assistance programs for uninsured and underinsured patients
- Obtain necessary documents for procuring free drugs, grants or copay assistance cards
- Maintain all the required documents for compliance and audit.
- Stay current with patient assistance programs
- Recommend purchases based on contract pricing, knowledge of vendors, and insurance benefits.
