About The Position

Performs complete verification checks on health insurance coverage and obtains financial and demographic information from the organization's discharge planner and outside referrals. Demonstrates and promotes service excellence at all times. The role verifies required insurance information, provides coverage and patient financial responsibility details to the discharge planner, records verified information in the computer, and serves as a liaison between verifications and reimbursement. Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–3 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Obtain financial and demographic information from the organization's discharge planner and outside referrals.
• Verify all required insurance information, including primary payor data.
• Notify nurses of changes in insurance information, as needed.
• Provide information about insurance coverage and patient financial responsibility to the discharge planner.
• Complete all required elements of the insurance verification form.
• Enter verified insurance information into the computer.
• Act as a liaison between verifications and reimbursement.
• Perform related duties as required.
• Demonstrate and promote service excellence.
