About The Position

The Patient Access Representative assists patients, clinic staff, and other clinical staff with scheduling, pre-registering, and registering for services at Adena Health System. Using established interviewing techniques, the representative gathers demographic, insurance, financial, precertification and authorization, and other information needed for billing and patient account collection. Information is collected in person, by phone, or through Meditech or eCW, and electronic tools are used to verify active insurance coverage. The role includes preparing an estimate for each patient at each visit or by phone during preregistration; obtaining required signatures and documents and scanning them into document imaging; and entering diagnoses and tests while checking orders for completeness and medical necessity. The representative works with clinicians in emergency, outpatient, and clinic settings to support timely patient care. The position requires self-direction, multitasking, prioritization, effective communication, and teamwork in support of department goals.
