About The Position

The Patient Access Representative II efficiently and accurately processes patient registrations, schedules appointments, and verifies insurance coverage. This role supports the patient experience and the hospital’s commitment to high-quality healthcare services by providing access to healthcare services in accordance with established policies, identifying payment sources, assisting with payment collection, and maintaining accurate electronic medical records while meeting internal and governmental or regulatory compliance expectations. The position is full-time in Skokie, Illinois, with a Monday–Friday schedule from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. No travel is required. The hourly pay range is $20.29–$29.42; the offered rate depends on factors including expertise and years of experience.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least one year of customer service experience in a healthcare- or health-insurance-related field.

Nice To Haves

College degree preferred.
Basic knowledge of medical terminology and insurance industry terminology preferred.

Responsibilities

Serve as an internal and external resource for customer groups by providing access to healthcare services in accordance with established policies.
Identify payment sources for services, assist with collecting payments, and direct patients or their representatives to financial counseling as appropriate.
Maintain accurate electronic medical records and comply with internal and governmental or regulatory requirements.
Process patient registrations, schedule appointments, and verify insurance coverage efficiently and accurately.
