About The Position
The Patient Access Representative I performs patient-facing registration and related tasks, including collecting and validating information and requisitioning orders and services. The role participates in insurance-related activities such as verification, collecting co-payments, and obtaining related paperwork. The representative ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and hospital policies and protocols, and serves as a liaison among patients, providers, payers, and other stakeholders on post-care matters related to account resolution. This is a full-time evening position at Atlantic Health Morristown Medical Center, with a listed schedule of 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and 0–3 years of experience in Patient Access, a medical office, health insurance, or a relevant area. A bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Medical Administration, or a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities
- Obtain and verify patient information for registration.
- Contact third-party payers to determine reasons for outstanding claims and communicate to facilitate timely claim payment.
- Request payment of financial dues from patients or guarantors.
- Obtain federally required and hospital-related consents in a timely manner.
- Reconcile daily bank bags and post collected dues, data entry, or charge codes within the financial system.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and work in various patient settings and locations.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
