About The Position

The Patient Access / Registration Representative completes patient registrations and pre-registrations in the emergency department. The role obtains accurate demographic, insurance, and patient-liability information and uses multiple hospital department and web-based systems. The representative performs registration and admission functions, verifies insurance requirements and benefits, ensures demographic, financial, and advance-directive entries are accurate, and collects fees for non-covered services. This is a full-time, 32-hour evening-shift position that includes every other weekend; shift and weekend differentials apply.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and interviewing skills.
• Demonstrated proficiency using computer systems and devices.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and medical insurance.

Nice To Haves

• One year of experience in an accredited hospital or physician's office is preferred.
