About The Position

The Patient Access Conversion Specialist supports patients by handling phone inquiries and appointment scheduling at an onsite medical office in Oak Lawn. The role helps create a positive patient experience, verifies patient information, and documents information in the EPIC electronic health record. The specialist reviews and monitors schedules and scheduling reports, pre-screens patients according to departmental protocols, works to fill open appointment slots on the same day, and prepares charts as appropriate.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Three years of patient- or client-facing experience.
• Demonstrates excellence in customer service and satisfaction for internal and external customers.
• Demonstrates personal integrity, honesty, and sincerity, and is trusted to do the right thing.
• Performs core responsibilities efficiently and effectively within organizational policies, procedures, and applicable governmental requirements.

Responsibilities

• Answer heavy call volumes to fulfill patient needs over the phone.
• Schedule patient appointments.
• Set the tone for a positive patient experience.
• Verify patient information and document it in the EPIC electronic health record.
• Review schedules.
• Pre-screen patients based on departmental protocol.
• Monitor schedules daily and ensure open slots are filled on the same day.
• Monitor patient scheduling reports daily.
• Review the Daily Appointment Report and prepare charts as appropriate.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
