About The Position

The Patient Access Associate works in the West Jefferson Medical Center Emergency Department and is often the first point of contact for patients and families during stressful or urgent situations. The role provides calm, clear, and compassionate assistance while supporting accurate and timely patient registration and efficient emergency department operations.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist patients and families with urgency and empathy.
• Register patients quickly and accurately during emergency visits.
• Verify insurance, demographic information, and required documentation.
• Communicate clearly and compassionately in high-stress situations.
• Support admissions, transfers, and discharges as needed.
• Partner with clinical teams to maintain patient flow and efficiency.
