As our Patient Access Associate, you’ll work to help our patients check into the hospital. It’s fast-paced on occasion and you’ll be the person they rely on to answer questions during registration. You’ll build trust in these interactions by collecting information accurately and quickly but also by listening with compassion - not just to hear information, but to address their fears, concerns, and questions. To thrive in this job, you’ll need to be a confident multi-tasker who is a quick study with technology and can type and answer phones. Requirements

High School Diploma or GED
Excellent customer service experience
Confident multi-tasker

Responsibilities

Working on computers and answering phones to intake information in a busy environment.
Working across multiple screens collecting details that must be input correctly between physician and nurse check-ins.
Typing as quickly as patients can talk.
Working around clinicians interrupting the registration process for emergent clinical care.
Helping people who may be very ill or worried.
Listening carefully to ease patient anxiety.
Asking follow-up questions and building rapport in real time.
Assisting patients complete their registration.
Collecting patient and insurance information, understanding variations in health plans and coverage through training.
