About The Position

As a Patient Access Associate, you will be the primary point of contact for patients checking into the hospital, responsible for answering their questions during registration. This role requires building trust by accurately and quickly collecting information, while also listening with compassion to address patient fears, concerns, and questions. The ideal candidate is a confident multi-tasker, quick to learn technology, and proficient in typing and answering phones. This position is described as a perfect starting point to launch a healthcare career, with comprehensive training provided. The work environment is fast-paced, often requiring you to be on your feet, assisting patients with registration, and navigating variations in health plans and coverage. You will work on computers, answering phones, and inputting details across multiple screens, often with interruptions from clinicians for emergent care. Requirements

  • Excellent customer service experience

Responsibilities

  • Help patients check into the hospital
  • Answer patient questions during registration
  • Collect information accurately and quickly
  • Listen with compassion to address patient fears, concerns, and questions
  • Work on computers and answer phones to intake information in a busy environment
  • Work across multiple screens collecting details that must be input correctly between physician and nurse check-ins
  • Ask follow-up questions and build rapport in real time
  • Assist patients complete their registration, often on your feet
