About The Position

Prepare food items in accordance with production requirements and quality standards while maintaining a safe, sanitary work environment. The position is at Hotel Clio, a Luxury Collection Hotel in Denver's Cherry Creek North, and is associated with Toro Latin Kitchen & Lounge. Applications are open until 12/15/2026 or until the position is filled.

Requirements

• High school education or equivalent experience.
• At least one year of food service or related work experience.
• Ability to work as a team member and communicate with kitchen staff.
• Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry items weighing up to 70 pounds.
• Ability to climb periodically and bend the knees as needed when using the lower oven.
• Full range of mobility, including regularly traveling 30–50 feet throughout the day.
• Ability to stand continuously during preparation, service, or expediting.
• Ability to hear equipment timers and communicate with other staff.
• Ability to see whether products are prepared appropriately.
• Moderate literacy to read use records and special requests.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food of consistent quality according to recipe cards, production standards, and portion standards.
• Start food items that are prepared ahead of time and avoid preparing more than estimated needs.
• Date food containers and rotate items according to SOP, keeping perishables at proper temperatures.
• Check pars for shift use and determine necessary preparation, freezer pull, and line setup.
• Note out-of-stock items or possible shortages.
• Return unused food items to designated storage areas for the next shift, covering and dating perishables.
• Assist with plans and actions to correct food cost problems; control food waste, loss, and usage according to SOP.
