About The Position

The Optimist is seeking an enthusiastic Pastry Cook to join its culinary team. The role executes the Executive Pastry Chef’s pastry, dessert, and bread recipes while ensuring a high level of quality and consistency. The Pastry Cook uses basic recipe unit-conversion knowledge and garde manger skills, takes direction, communicates effectively with team members, and manages an assigned station while keeping the back-of-house space neat, clean, and organized. The ideal candidate uses quick problem-solving skills to address issues that arise. Pay is $16 to $24 per hour, based on experience and ability.
