About The Position
Restaurant Associates, part of Compass Group, is hiring a full-time Pastry Chef at the Houston Space Center in Houston, Texas. The role creates, plans, and supervises the daily production of pastries, desserts, and baked goods. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Three years of pastry chef experience is required. The advertised pay range is $23.00 to $25.00 per hour.
Requirements
- Three years of pastry chef experience.
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the position satisfactorily, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily production and distribution of pastries, desserts, and baked goods.
- Ensure recipes and standards are followed, food costs are controlled, and quantities meet established production needs.
- Ensure proper food handling, presentation, portion control, and serving temperatures.
- Monitor and control maintenance and sanitation of the pastry kitchen and equipment to meet or exceed applicable standards and regulations.
- Supervise hourly kitchen and pastry associates, including interviewing, scheduling, payroll, training, counseling, participating in reviews, and recommending disciplinary action as appropriate.
- Help plan and implement seasonal menus.
- Order and maintain pastry supplies and products to ensure appropriate inventory levels.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
