About The Position

Walters Wedding Estates, a Walters Hospitality brand, is seeking a self-motivated and skilled pastry chef/decorator, with a focus on cake decorating, to create wedding cakes and other desserts. The position is based in Hickory Creek, Texas, and offers hourly pay of $16–$20. Work ranges from 30 to 35 hours per week, with schedules that fluctuate based on wedding-season demand; hours may be shorter during slow periods. Normal bakery operating hours are 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Weekend availability is required for deliveries. Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States and complete a background check. Walters Hospitality participates in E-Verify.

Requirements

At least 2 years of cake-decorating experience.
High school diploma or equivalent.
ServSafe Food Handlers certification or equivalent.
Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation.
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift or carry 50 pounds.
Must be eligible to work in the United States and complete a background check.
Weekend availability for deliveries.
Ability to adapt and learn quickly, communicate clearly with a team, and work as a team player.
Strong attention to detail, ownership of responsibilities, and passion for the culinary arts.
Ability to adapt to clients’ needs.

Responsibilities

Bake cakes and desserts.
Decorate cakes, including wedding cakes, using techniques such as stone, horizontal, stucco, wedding dots, and palette textures.
Work with food coloring, fondant, edible images, and cake design.
Make deliveries on weekends as scheduled.
