About The Position

They are seeking a Pastoral Carer to deliver high-quality pastoral care for residents, families, and staff. This role involves responding to diverse spiritual and religious needs, promoting a contemporary understanding of pastoral and spiritual care, and attending to the emotional and spiritual needs of residents. The position aims to address loneliness, helplessness, and boredom, assist with lifestyle initiatives to improve well-being, respect individual wishes, create a positive and meaningful environment, and promote safety, security, and optimal health for residents.

Requirements

• Resilient, compassionate and have a whole lot of heart
• Committed to delivering exceptional patient-centred care
• Provide evidence of, or in the process of obtaining: A current Police Record Check and Working with Children Check
• Proof of current influenza vaccination and other vaccination status consistent with public health orders

Responsibilities

• Deliver high quality pastoral care for residents, families and staff
• Respond effectively to the diverse spiritual and religious needs of residents
• Promote a contemporary understanding of pastoral and spiritual care with residents, families and staff
• Attend to the emotional and spiritual needs of residents
• Understand, acknowledge and address the plagues of loneliness, helplessness and boredom
• When possible assist and deliver lifestyle initiatives to improve the overall health and wellbeing of residents
• Respect and honour the individual wishes of each resident
• Create and promote an environment that is positive, vibrant, fun, spontaneous and filled with meaning
• Promote safety, security and optimal health for residents
