About The Position

Kendall Auto Group is seeking a Partsperson to join their team at Kendall Auto Mall of Fairbanks. This role involves working in a fun and friendly environment, serving technicians, clients, and local businesses by selling OEM and aftermarket parts for represented brands. The position requires extensive computer usage for parts catalogs, online research, and invoicing, as well as physical tasks like pulling and putting away parts, maintaining displays, and performing inventory counts. The company emphasizes a strong work ethic, organization, and attention to detail, with customers relying on accuracy for parts fulfillment.

Requirements

  • Ability to operate a wide variety of vehicles for both automatic and manual transmissions.
  • A valid driver's license and a good driving record.
  • Familiarity with the basic operating systems of a motor vehicle.
  • Customer service experience with a demonstrated history of tenure.
  • Strong work ethic: showing up on time, reliably working assigned shifts, taking pride in work, and communicating/planning for absences.
  • Organized and detail-oriented: liking defined systems and processes, ability to research and follow procedures, and keeping things tidy.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of vehicle systems should be easily demonstrated during an in-person interview.
  • The ideal candidate can find the balance between being friendly and easy going, while keeping interactions professional and on task.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting customers, technicians, and local businesses with the selling of parts for represented brands.
  • Communicating with customers, technicians, and businesses in-person, via phone, email, and internal messaging.
  • Extensive computer usage, including electronic parts catalogs, online research, and invoicing/ordering using dealer management software.
  • Pulling and putting away parts.
  • Maintaining well-merchandised displays in customer areas.
  • Performing routine housekeeping of the department.
  • Performing regular inventory bin/cycle counts and maintenance.
  • Utilizing all available training and achieving/maintaining certification levels.
  • Assisting with annual inventory.
