About The Position

The Parts Shipping/Receiving Clerk supports daily parts department operations by receiving incoming materials, products, and supplies and entering data into the business system. The role also prepares items for shipment, restocks shelves, and maintains a neat, orderly, and secure parts storage area. The employer is willing to train a suitable candidate; previous experience in shipping and receiving, inventory management, or parts operations is a plus.

Nice To Haves

• At least one year of automotive parts experience is preferred.
• Previous experience in shipping and receiving, inventory management, or parts operations is a plus; training is available for the right candidate.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Determine shipment methods and prepare bills, invoices, and other shipping documents.
• Receive merchandise, check and sign delivery slips, and assist with unloading as necessary.
• Inspect and verify incoming goods against invoices or other documents; record shortages and reject damaged goods.
• Organize merchandise distribution and shipping; verify goods against documents, unpack them, and route them to appropriate storage areas.
• Handle customer pickups.
• Operate a forklift, hand truck, or other equipment to load, unload, transport, and store goods, as needed.
• Maintain internal record-keeping systems.
• Contact resource people for information and contact transport companies and suppliers to expedite, trace, or return merchandise that does not conform to specifications or purchase orders.
• Follow safe storage and handling procedures for chemicals and other materials, and proper shipping procedures for dangerous goods.
• Take inventory, maintain and organize the storage area, and place stock on shelves.
• Keep the area secure and maintain accurate inventory records.
• Assist with general parts department operations and work with the Parts Team to keep daily operations running smoothly.
• Provide customer service in a fast-paced environment.
