About The Position

Pape’ Material Handling, a premier capital equipment dealer in the West, is looking for a motivated and customer-oriented Parts Sales Counterperson I to join their team. This role involves learning to respond to customer needs for parts in person or by telephone, determining customer parts needs through various resources, and recommending parts or services. The position requires maintaining knowledge of products, services, and parts, completing transaction paperwork accurately, and operating a forklift. Requirements

Ability to perform at a high level in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment.
Ability to communicate effectively with customers by telephone and in person.
Good computer skills and basic familiarity with Microsoft Outlook, Excel and various search engines.
Above-average organizational skills.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Must be coachable, motivated, and enjoy building relationships with current and potential customers.

Nice To Haves

Prior history with counter sales or parts inventory preferred.
Forklift training is available.

Responsibilities

Respond to customer needs for parts in person or by telephone.
Determine customer parts needs through literature, computer programs, and parts knowledge.
Recommend parts or services to the customer.
Maintain knowledge of products, services, and parts and their associated costs.
Complete all necessary paperwork on each transaction accurately and in a timely manner.
Respond to customers in person or by telephone and provide quotes or estimates for parts.
Process credits, make adjustments, and monitor for restocking charges on all parts sales.
Operate a forklift to handle pallets of product.
