About The Position

Pape’ Machinery, Inc. is seeking a motivated and customer-oriented Parts Sales Counterperson I to join their team. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working in a positive, high-energy environment and providing excellent customer experiences. The Parts Sales Counterperson will be the primary parts expert for customers needing to maintain and repair their equipment, handling interactions both in person and over the phone. Responsibilities include actively engaging with customers, identifying their needs, providing recommendations, and utilizing product literature, specialized software, and growing knowledge to offer timely and accurate solutions. The role emphasizes building trust and customer relationships through a positive attitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to finding the best solutions.

Requirements

  • Verifiable parts counter experience or applicable mechanical/service experience.
  • Basic knowledge of parts inventory.
  • Self-motivation and assertive drive.
  • Ability to perform at a high level in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers by telephone and in person to sell company parts and other services.
  • Above-average organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Actively engage with customers to identify their needs and provide recommendations.
  • Utilize product literature, specialized software systems, and knowledge of parts and equipment to offer timely and accurate solutions.
  • Translate technical details into actionable parts support.
  • Build trust and lasting relationships with clients.
