About The Position

The Parts Inventory Technician is responsible for parts procurement and inventory management for the maintenance department for the Sacramento associates. This position is part of the Maintenance team located in Sacramento, CA and will be an on-site role reporting to the Sr Maintenance Manager.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma with several years of experience including work experience in inventory control, warehousing, or parts management
  • Proficient with computers, including MS Office (Excel, Word) and data entry.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with a focus on accuracy and number matching.
  • Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 50lbs regularly.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, crouch, and climb ladders, throughout an 8-10-hour shift.
  • Must be able to work in office, warehouse and manufacturing environments (which have varying temperatures, noise levels, dust and PPE requirements).

Nice To Haves

  • Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical parts used in manufacturing equipment including bearings, belts, rollers, valves, pumps, motors, relays, contactors, fuses, solenoids, PLC and control systems.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with technicians, managers and external suppliers.
  • Setting up a parts inventory process.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, log, and stock all incoming maintenance parts, components, and specialized tools.
  • Issue parts and tools to maintenance technicians and track usage within the CMMS (AMMS, MP2, etc.).
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits to maintain accuracy.
  • Identify, flag, and report discrepancies between physical stock and system records.
  • Monitor inventory levels against established minimum/maximum levels and generate purchase requisitions.
  • Coordinate with vendors to obtain quotes, track order status, and expedite critical “line down” shipments.
  • Verify incoming shipments against packing slips and purchase orders for correct quantities and specifications.
  • Process returns for damaged, incorrect, or core-exchange parts.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and highly organized parts room utilizing 5S methodologies (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain).
  • Ensure all parts bins, shelves, and racks are clearly labeled with part numbers, descriptions, and barcodes.
  • Properly store and track hazardous materials or shelf-life sensitive items (e.g. lubricants, adhesives, calibrations standards, etc).
