About The Position

The Parts and Inventory Specialist for our Maintenance Department will oversee and direct tools and parts for the department. This position is located in our Longview Texas plant. Requirements

  • Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Dynamics (AX) to track orders and maintain inventory levels of parts and supplies.

  • Working knowledge of facilities machinery and equipment.
  • Safety, Environmental, Quality, and Company Policies.
  • Knowledge of basic machine parts and how to troubleshoot.
  • Ability to use a variety of measuring tools and test equipment.
  • Knowledge of computer maintenance management systems
  • Familiarity with using a Forklift, Manlift, Power tools, and Hand tools.
  • Familiar with safety principles such as: Lock-out Tag-out, NFPA 70E, Machine Guarding, HAZCOM, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for creating an environment of teamwork focused on producing quality products.
  • Sets the example of safe operation by following established safety guidelines and holds self and others accountable.
  • Maintain open communication with department employees and purchasing representatives to ensure efficient timing.
  • Maintain clean and orderly parts room.
  • Order and receive parts efficiently.
  • Report damaged, worn out, or missing equipment.
  • Inspects/measure tools and equipment for defects and wear, visually or using measurement tools and report damage or wear to supervision.
  • Dispose of surplus or obsolete equipment or materials.
  • Supporting maintenance PM process by ensuring parts availability.
  • Maintain and create SOP’s for parts ordering, inventory processes, and parts room operations.
  • Liaising with service providers and coordinating with vendors and contractors as necessary in partnership with Maintenance Lead and Maintenance Manager.
  • Gather quotes for parts and services with the best competitive pricing.
  • Perform regular inspections of equipment and supplies.
  • Scheduling, procuring, and maintaining maintenance supplies and services for companies.
  • Correctly, label, deliver, and store all parts/supplies in their proper locations.
  • Perform monthly inventory counts and ensure AX matches the physical count.
  • Must be able to usage out spare parts and distribute to the proper equipment.
  • Provide excellent customer service when dealing with vendors, contractors, and fellow employees.
  • Complete verification and validation activities in IPL’s Food Safety Plan as decided by the Food Safety Management System.
