About The Position

The Parts Driver delivers and picks up parts and equipment for the dealership. This role involves coordinating with various departments and external contacts to ensure timely and accurate delivery and pick-up of parts. The driver is also responsible for basic truck maintenance and assisting the service department when needed.

Requirements

Valid driver's license
Ability to maintain a professional attitude with co-workers, customers, and vendors.
Adherence to company dress code.
Ability to maintain a clean and neat work area.
Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws regarding information safeguarding.
Punctuality and adherence to work schedule.
Completion of annual HR training and any other required training.

Responsibilities

Picks up and delivers parts and equipment to customers, satellite stores, wholesale accounts and vendors.
Checks with the parts manager, wholesale representative, inventory control administrator, parts counter people or shipping and receiving clerk before leaving to coordinate any last minute pick-ups or deliveries.
Delivers parts to body shop when needed and distributes to appropriate body technicians.
Verifies that invoice matches purchase order for each pick up.
Checks payments received with the invoices for each delivery.
Keeps an accurate log of daily deliveries and pick-ups. Requests recipient's signature on each delivery entry.
Unloads truck each night. Turns in all paperwork and undelivered parts.
Handles basic maintenance of the truck including filling tank with gas, checking oil, keeping it clean and making sure required inspections are performed.
Advises parts manager if delivery trucks need major repairs and maintenance.
Assists service department as needed with attendant responsibilities of managing the drop-off and pick-up of customers cars.
Helps with stocking and posting orders when they arrive to expedite delivery to shop technicians and wholesale accounts.
Maintains a professional attitude with co-workers, customers, vendors.
Follows the dress code the company has put in place.
Maintains a clean and neat work area.
Follows federal, state and local law as well as company policy about safeguarding all information.
Reports on time to work and follows schedule that is given.
Calls supervisor if he/she cannot be at work on time.
Keeps current with annual HR training along with any other training that might be required for this position.
Follows all company policies and procedures.
Notifies supervisor of any illegal activity.
