About The Position

The Parts Development Interior & Exterior System Assistant Manager is responsible for all purchasing activities related to Direct Materials, MRO products and services at Hyundai Motor Group MetaPlant America, LLC. This includes S/R review with Engineering, RFQ release, quotation analysis, and recommendations concerning cost, quality, and service. The role involves managing commercial negotiations with suppliers, mitigating commercial risks, and actively leading commodity development, sourcing, negotiations, and budget management. Establishing and strengthening supplier relationships for better alignment, managing commodity development, quality, and parts procurement (both local and import), and driving improvements to the purchasing organization’s processes are key aspects of this position. Additionally, the role requires working with critical suppliers to develop short-term 'Build and Ship' plans to support production and focusing on long-term supply plans for critical components.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Business, Administration, or other related areas.
  • Minimum 2 years experience in parts development and procurement (Seat Assembly / Instrument Panel, Exterior(Glass/Wiper etc), HVAC System).

  • Excellent written and verbal communication, analytical, and organizational skills desired.

  • Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) or Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) designation preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Find local potential suppliers in NA and select the most competitive supplier for EV programs.
  • Negotiate with suppliers for the best material and tooling cost to achieve vehicle target costs.
  • Develop all commodities with sourced suppliers meeting required specifications and development timing.
  • Manage material logistics from suppliers and prevent disruptions in the flow of production parts.
  • Constantly develop new technologies and processes.
  • Develop purchasing strategies with Engineering and Suppliers to ensure secure supply at best cost.
