The individual in this role will be responsible for selling parts to all customers, whether over the counter, through the shop, or on the phone. Requirements

High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
One to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees
Ability to wear approved safety footwear at all times while working in designated shop and service areas
Successful completion of a mandatory background screening

Responsibilities

Assists all customers (retail and shop) in selecting required parts in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner.
Informs customers of companion part requirements and specials.
Answers phone calls, providing price quotes and other information.
Reviews shop estimates to ensure parts ordered are correct and pricing is accurate.
Pulls and fills orders from warehouse inventory.
Notifies parts manager of out-of-stock parts or shop materials.
Locates out-of-stock parts from outside sources and submits emergency orders.
Notifies service advisors and customers regarding special order parts status.
Notifies the shop when parts have arrived.
Pulls orders for delivery to the shop, ensuring items are tagged with customer names and job numbers.
Follows up on back-ordered parts.
Verifies will-call and back-order files weekly.
Replenishes assigned inventory daily.
Assists outside sales representatives with their orders.
Ensures internal requests for parts are billed on service repair orders.
Receives payment from retail customers or obtains credit authorization.
Issues credit for parts returned.
Issues and tracks requested shop tools to technicians.
Keeps orderly records of repair orders, invoices, insurance estimates, and special order parts.
Sets up orders for daily shipment, delivery, or pick-up.
Solicits assigned accounts by phone.
Keeps front and rear counter areas clean and uncluttered.
Participates in training programs and stays current on new products.
Maintains professional appearance.
