About The Position

Gibbs Truck Centers is seeking an experienced Parts Counter Specialist to provide knowledgeable parts support and exceptional customer service to retail customers, commercial customers, technicians, service departments, and other internal departments. The ideal candidate is organized, customer-focused, detail-oriented, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced heavy-duty truck dealership environment.

Requirements

  • Previous parts counter experience required; heavy-duty truck, commercial vehicle, automotive, equipment, or dealership experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Computer skills and experience with electronic parts catalogs or inventory systems.
  • Dependable, professional, safety-conscious, and team-oriented.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
  • Knowledge of medium- and heavy-duty truck parts preferred.
  • Forklift experience or certification preferred.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
  • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist customers and technicians in identifying and sourcing the correct parts for medium- and heavy-duty trucks.
  • Provide accurate pricing, availability, and delivery information in person and by phone.
  • Process parts sales, shop orders, special orders, will-call orders, and returns accurately.
  • Pull, stage, tag, and distribute parts for customers, technicians, and other departments.
  • Source unavailable parts and follow up on back-ordered, special-order, and emergency parts.
  • Maintain accurate inventory and assist with inventory replenishment and lost-sales tracking.
  • Assist outside sales representatives and support customer accounts as needed.
  • Ensure invoices and related documentation are completed accurately.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and professional parts department.
  • Participate in company and manufacturer training to maintain current product knowledge.
  • Provide professional and courteous service to customers, vendors, and dealership personnel.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
