About The Position

Billion Automotive is a family-owned, multi-state automotive organization with more than 25 locations in Iowa, Minnesota, and South Dakota. The Parts Counter Associate assists retail and shop customers with selecting parts, provides product and pricing information, and supports parts ordering, inventory, delivery, and recordkeeping. The role provides service to internal and external customers and works with the parts manager, service advisors, customers, and body shops.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
• Customer service experience; automotive parts-specific experience is not required.
• Positive and helpful attitude when assisting customers.
• Working knowledge of automotive systems, replacement parts sales, and the needs of repair professionals.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist retail and shop customers in selecting required parts in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner.
• Inform customers about companion part requirements and specials, and ensure they are exposed to the full product line.
• Answer phone calls and provide price quotes and other information.
• Review body shop estimates to confirm ordered parts are correct and pricing aligns with the estimate.
• Provide a high level of service to internal and external customers.
• Pull and fill orders from stock.
• Notify the parts manager about out-of-stock parts or shop materials requiring immediate attention.
• Locate out-of-stock parts from outside sources and submit emergency orders when necessary.
• Notify service advisors and customers when special-ordered parts arrive.
• Notify the body shop when all parts have arrived and when they will be delivered.
• Prepare orders for body shop delivery, ensuring all parts are tagged with customer names and job numbers.
• Follow up on back-ordered parts.
• Replenish assigned inventory daily.
• Maintain orderly records of repair orders, invoices, insurance estimates, and special-order parts.
• Set up orders for daily shipment, delivery, or pickup.
• Participate with the parts manager in maintaining a lost-sales tracking program.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.
