About The Position

The Collision Parts Coordinator assists collision technicians and estimators by sourcing and distributing the correct parts for vehicles under repair at the collision center. The role includes tracking parts in the collision management and accounting systems, coordinating vendor services, and helping ensure vehicle delivery time frames are met.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Two years of previous parts experience.
• 10-key and/or alphanumeric data-entry skills, and ability to use a computer for parts entry and linking part numbers in the accounting system.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.
• Valid in-state driver’s license and ability to maintain an acceptable, safe driving record.

Responsibilities

• Assist collision center estimators in acquiring the required and correct parts for vehicles in process.
• Distribute parts to body technicians to expedite workflow.
• Ensure all parts are charged and linked to the collision management system (Profit Net) for billing in the accounting system.
• Inspect each part received for accuracy and damage.
• Return all unused parts within 30 days of receipt.
• Keep current on new products and product updates.
• Determine availability and provide information for out-of-stock parts, and secure approval from the Collision Manager for special or emergency orders.
• Coordinate sublet vendors and services to help expedite workflow.
• Ensure all received parts are labeled with the RO number, technician name, and estimator name.
• Maintain the department and demonstrate good housekeeping skills.
• Obtain time requirements from technicians and estimators to help ensure customer time frames are met for vehicle deliveries.
