About The Position

Virginia Transportation is hiring a Parts Clerk in Marysville, Ohio. The role is responsible for the parts room and inventory, including ordering, receiving, and cataloging parts. The Parts Clerk ensures parts are charged out on return orders and that purchase orders are issued, processed, and received. The position assists shop mechanics in obtaining and ordering parts promptly and retains warranty parts for return to vendors when requested by the Warranty Department. The Parts Clerk reports to the Shop Foreman and is classified as non-exempt under the FLSA.

Requirements

Mechanical aptitude.
Computer proficiency.
Comfort working in a fast-paced environment and ability to stay calm under pressure.
Strong interpersonal skills with peers, staff, and external service locations.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Basic knowledge of shipping and receiving.
Basic knowledge of how to obtain parts to support repair facilities, if needed.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to perform essential duties under time constraints, interruptions, and pressure.
Ability to meet the position's physical demands, including sitting or standing for most duties, frequent walking, and a moderate amount of standing, stooping, kneeling, bending, lifting, reaching, grasping, pushing, and pulling objects weighing less than 50 pounds.
Ability to read computer screens and printed materials and communicate clearly by telephone and in person.

Responsibilities

Manage the parts room and inventory.
