About The Position

Virginia Transportation is hiring a Parts Clerk in Marysville, Ohio. The role is responsible for the parts room and inventory, including ordering, receiving, and cataloging parts. The Parts Clerk ensures parts are charged out on return orders and that purchase orders are issued, processed, and received. The position also supports shop mechanics by helping them obtain and order parts promptly and retains warranty parts for return to vendors when requested by the Warranty Department. The Parts Clerk reports to the Shop Foreman. This is a non-exempt position. The work may require more than 40 hours per week and may involve time constraints, interruptions, and pressure.

Requirements

Mechanical aptitude.
Computer proficiency.
Comfort working in a fast-paced environment and the ability to stay calm under pressure.
Strong interpersonal skills when working with peers, staff, and external service locations.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Basic knowledge of shipping and receiving.
Basic knowledge of how to obtain parts to support repair facilities when needed.
Well organized and detail oriented.
Ability to perform essential duties with time constraints, interruptions, and pressure.
Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, including sitting or standing for most duties; frequent walking; some standing, stooping, kneeling, bending, lifting, and reaching; reading from screens and printed materials; frequent telephone use; and communicating clearly by phone and in person.
Ability to grasp, lift, push, and/or pull objects weighing less than 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

Manage the parts room and inventory.
Order, receive, and catalog parts.
Ensure parts are charged out on return orders.
Ensure purchase orders are issued, processed, and received.
Assist shop mechanics with obtaining and ordering parts in a timely manner.
Retain warranty parts for return to vendors as requested by the Warranty Department.
