About The Position

The Parts Clerk is responsible for operating and maintaining equipment according to autonomous maintenance (AM) standards and using technical skills to improve line and/or system performance to meet business needs. This role involves executing standard work processes, ensuring safety and quality assurance activities are performed, and understanding and reporting losses in their area and equipment. The Parts Clerk will also receive shipments, issue parts, contact vendors for price bids, barcode inventory, assemble kits, fill orders, conduct cycle counts, and assist maintenance staff with parts and equipment knowledge. Additionally, they will support the bakery change management process, identify areas for improvement in spending, stock turnover, and pricing, and maintain a clean and organized parts storage area.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years previous experience working in Maintenance, MRO, or Warehouse / Inventory Management.
  • Familiarity with maintenance practices, general parts knowledge and procurement procedures.
  • Strong MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), MS Outlook calendar and email management, written and oral communication skills.
  • General understanding of maintenance functions and operations.
  • Ensure personal safety, food safety and quality protocols are followed.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in ERP and CMMS systems a plus.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or food production environment a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain equipment to meet safety, quality, cost, delivery, sustainability, and morale targets.
  • Execute standard work processes using AM and PM standards.
  • Ensure safety processes are observed and quality assurance activities are performed.
  • Understand and report losses in their area and equipment.
  • Receive shipments from vendors, check packing slips/invoices for accuracy, and confer with suppliers regarding late deliveries.
  • Directly issue parts to open work orders or place parts in the proper location within the parts room.
  • Contact vendors to obtain price bids and prepare parts requisitions.
  • Obtain purchase order numbers from the bakery’s purchasing policies.
  • Barcode all inventory parts for usage tracking.
  • Assemble kits and fill orders as requested.
  • Issue parts to open work orders as parts are distributed to mechanics.
  • Conduct continuous cycle counts and periodic physical inventories to assure the proper availability of required stock.
  • Exhibit a basic understanding of parts and equipment necessary to assist maintenance staff.
  • Assist with the bakery change management process.
  • Assist in identifying areas of improvement such as spending patterns, stock turnover, and pricing.
  • Ensure that the parts storage area is clean, secure, and well organized.
  • Perform other related duties as requested.
