About The Position

This role is for a technically skilled, solutions-focused individual who will build positive relationships, understand customer needs, and deliver innovative, effective outcomes. The individual will be responsible for the Cisco brand with customers and partners, providing technical solutions to address business needs. They will collaborate with the account team and connected sales teams on the customer plan, jointly ensuring customer success, and serve as a trusted technical advisor. The role involves increasing penetration via cross/up-selling, displacing competition, and owning the technical relationship with customers/partners. It requires leading engagements with IT & decision makers, understanding the customer environment and market, and translating business needs into technical requirements. The individual will spend most selling time landing opportunities and expanding within an account, and be involved in customer strategic planning. They will provide active feedback to Business Entities (BEs) and relevant sales teams on strategic customer needs and market opportunities, and competitive market tactics. The role involves taking the lead on moving deals across the technical sales process, developing and presenting relevant solutions based on technical and business requirements, leading virtual support teams, and leveraging relevant tools and resources to support a deal. Success will be measured by increased revenue (closed opportunities converted to closed deals), displacing competitors/increasing market share, and increasing net new customers on a quarterly basis.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree and 8+ years of demonstrated ability in a pre-sales engineering role
  • Masters and 6+ years of demonstrated ability in a pre-sales engineering role

  • Demonstrable experience building and maintaining positive relationships with customers and partners.
  • 6 to 8 years of communication and presentation skills
  • Observability or security pre-sales experience and AI experience
  • Cisco knowledge

  • Leads the strategy and planning of demand generation and enablement initiatives
  • Identifies latent customer needs and showcases cross-architecture solutions
  • Leads demonstrations that emphasize how Cisco solutions can drive business outcomes
  • Applies advanced competitive intelligence to differentiate Cisco solutions
  • Mobilizes a broad network of stakeholders to drive transformative synergies and optimize customer relationships
  • Directs SE virtual and extended sales teams toward continuous improvement and coordinates educational programs
  • Demonstrates agility by adjusting strategies in response to significant disruptions
