About The Position

Career Staffing Talent is partnering with a law firm to hire a Partner in Employment Insurance Defense for a full-time remote opportunity focused on complex employment litigation. The role is intended for an experienced attorney who can independently manage matters from intake through resolution, work directly with insurance carriers and insured clients, and shape litigation strategy across a busy defense practice. The attorney will handle employment-related claims under state and federal law and provide guidance to junior legal staff on case management and litigation best practices.

Requirements

Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
Active Florida bar admission in good standing.
At least 8 years of defense litigation experience, with a substantial focus on employment insurance defense.
Experience independently handling employment litigation matters from inception through resolution.
Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws, including discrimination, wage and hour, leave, and wrongful termination claims.
Experience working directly with insurance carriers and insured clients.

Nice To Haves

First-chair or second-chair trial experience.
Administrative hearing representation experience.
Experience mentoring junior legal staff.

Responsibilities

Lead employment insurance defense matters from intake through resolution, including trial or appeal when needed.
Handle pleadings, discovery, motion practice, depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and court appearances.
Defend employers against employment-related claims under federal and state law.
Communicate with insurance carriers, claims professionals, and insured clients about case strategy, exposure, and status.
Prepare case assessments, litigation strategy updates, and reporting aligned with carrier guidelines.
Mentor associates and paralegals on litigation processes, case strategy, and best practices.
