Participant Care Assistant, CNA
About The Position
The CNA-certified Participant Care Assistant (PCA) provides essential care and assistance to participants enrolled in the PACE program at the day center. Working closely with the team, the PCA delivers compassionate, person-centered care and supports activities of daily living, comfort, and companionship. This is a full-time position in the Day Center at PACE of Southwest Michigan in Niles, Michigan. The schedule is 40 hours per week, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. The listed compensation is $18.36–$20.27 per hour. The responsibilities described are a summary and may not include every duty required.
Requirements
- CNA certification is required.
- One year of prior experience assisting frail or elderly individuals with activities of daily living.
- Valid Michigan driver’s license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation.
- Current CPR or BLS certification, or willingness to obtain certification.
- Ability to work independently, multitask, and work as part of an interdisciplinary team.
Responsibilities
- Assist participants with personal care activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
- Help participants with meals and hydration.
- Support mobility, including turning, positioning, and safe transfers.
- Measure and record vital signs, weight, and intake and output.
- Keep rooms tidy, comfortable, and stocked with essentials.
- Respond to participants with kindness and compassion.
- Report changes in participants’ conditions to leadership promptly.
- Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate respect and professionalism.
